Run Reports

The YH³ Hash Trash was, for many years, published in paper form and distributed at each Hash after the run and prior to the commencement of the Circle. From about mid-1999, these paper editions featured, in addition to the ReRun Report (a summary of the previous week’s Run), a much-loved weekly “Letter to Mum” (a tongue-in cheek roundup of the week’s inevitably Orwellian news) and a selection of photos. For anyone interested, there is a complete library of these paper Hash Trashes that stretches back to Run 108 (27 Aug 1984) although there are a few gaps here and there.

Due to the changed circumstances of the long-standing author and editor, BoBo. the paper edition ceased publication on Run 1416 on 25 April 2015. About this time, the “Letter to Mum” lost much of its raison d’être because of the change in the political scene and the liberalisation of the press. The “Letter to Mum,” which could have been mis-interpreted as anti-establishment, had necessitated a strict control of the distribution of the Trash because of potential backlash from the authorities. However, as the YH3 crept (was dragged?) into the digital age, a website was created and the intention was to then attempt to publish the Trash in digital form (the liberalisation of the media plus the absence of the “Letter to Mum” made this a tenable prospect). However, attempts by BoBo to elicit volunteers to help in producing the Trash, fell on deaf ears and regular publication ceased. Occasional flurries of energy by BoBo resulted in the intermittent publication of a somewhat slimmed-down version of the Trash and he has a long-term ambition to try and fill in the gaps wherever possible.

Please note that the PDF files for which links are given below are low resolution to keep file sizes as small as possible. However, anyone who wants a copy of the original Word document is welcome to it if they ask. The Word documents contain graphics at much higher resolution but some of the files are tens of megabytes in size if they contain a lot of pictures.
